What is RFID?
Radio-frequency identification (RFID) is a technology that uses communication via electromagnetic waves to exchange data between a terminal and an electronic tag attached to an object for the purpose of identification and tracking. They allow us to simply wave our cards, license, or passports in front of a scanner instead of having to swipe our cards through a magnetic strip reader. They use high-tech hijacking scanning software that instantly reads the RFID chips that are now embedded in most credit cards, licenses, and passports by simply walking closely by! These RFID chips hold all of your most sensitive information: credit card numbers, expiration dates, names, addresses, birthdays, etc. thus allowing them full access to your identity and money!
The RFID blocking travel wallet protects the following type of contactless cards/Passports including:
• Government issued Passports
• All payment cards (credit, debit, etc)
• Drivers License
• Student IDs
• Transit cards such as Myki, Opal, Go Card
• ID cards
